Dental Camp Organized at Pradeshik Armed Constabulary by ZADC

 

Aligarh : In a bid to combat tobacco dependency and promote oral health, the Department of Periodontia & Community Dentistry at Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College, at AMU, organized a dental camp at Pradeshik Armed Constabulary (PAC) Aligarh, aligning with the G20 events theme.

The primary focus of the dental camp was to raise awareness about anti-tobacco initiatives while providing essential oral healthcare services to the PAC battalion members. A comprehensive oral examination was conducted, with particular attention paid to identifying individuals struggling with tobacco addiction. For them, Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) in the form of “Nobacco” products was offered, aiding in their journey to quit tobacco and embrace healthier lifestyles.

To further educate participants on the risks of oral cancer and the importance of preventive oral care, educational pamphlets were distributed. The camp was not limited to awareness campaigns; essential dental treatments were also provided. Services such as restorations and oral prophylaxis addressed the immediate oral health needs of the PAC battalion members, ensuring a comprehensive approach to their well-being.

Prof. R.K Tewari, the Principal of Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College, guided the camp’s execution. Supervised by Prof. Vivek Kumar Sharma, Prof. Neha Agrawal, Dr. Pramod Kumar Yadav, and Dr. Syed Amaan Ali, the camp operated seamlessly.
