Public lecture held on Debating Constitutional Changes

 

ALIGARH  : The Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University organized a public lecture on “Debating Constitutional Change” in virtual mode, which was live-streamed on the CISCO WebEx platform.

Delivering a lecture on the contemporary debate on constitutional changes, Advocate Ashish Goel, Supreme Court of India, dwelled into the basic structure doctrine and its implications for the Indian Constitution without disturbing the core essence of the Constitution.

Earlier, welcoming the guest speaker, Prof. M.Z.M. Nomani, Dean, Faculty of Law said that the implied limitation to constitutional amendment is still germane in the discourse of Indian constitutional development. He took the audience on a voyage through several landmark judgments and touched the discourse on constitutional changes and their relevance.

A wide range of participants including lawyers and academicians from various parts of the world attended the lecture online.
