Director Agriculture inaugurates pasteurised compost plant at Udhampur

 

UDHAMPUR : Director Agriculture Production and Farmers’ Welfare Department, K K Sharma today inaugurated a pasteurized compost plant here at Mushroom Development Office.

Programme was attended by the new trainee entrepreneurs, Mushroom growers and staff of Mushroom Development Office.

The maiden plant in District Udhampur will enable the growers to get ready made pasteurized compost which was earlier imported from states like Himachal & Punjab.

Addressing the growers, the Director advised them to adopt composite farming to double their income. He encouraged them to take up the preparation of compost on PPP mode as it will reduce the cost of production. He directed the officers to issue pasteurized compost bags to the growers on 50% subsidy.

Chief Agriculture Officer, Udhampur S.C Sharma also advised the farmers to adopt new technology to lift their economic status. MDO, Sukhbir Singh, MDA Rakesh Padha and other officials were also present.
