DLSA Reasi hosts legal awareness prog on ‘Social Significance of Fundamental Rights’

 

REASI : Public awareness, equal opportunity and deliverable justice are the cornerstones on which the edifice of Legal Services Authority is based. In this context the District Legal Services Authority, Reasi today organized a legal awareness program on the topic “Social Significance of Fundamental Rights” under the guidance and supervision of its Chairman R. N. Wattal, here at Legal Aid Clinic Nomain, Katra established under A2 J project .

Advocate Sunil Sharma, one of Panel Advocates of the DLSA, was the resource person. He threw light on the importance of the Fundamental Rights and shared his valuable knowledge on the subject. The program was organized as per the Mandate of the Calendar of the programs of Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority for the month of August under the project “Access to Justice for J&K” (Phase-II).

Meanwhile, District Legal Services Authority Reasi, in order to sensitize the Youth and masses and to celebrate International Youth Day , organized two separate Webinars on the topic “Fundamental Duties” in collaboration with Government High and Middle schools Gran More, Reasi. Advocate Rashi Baru was the resource person. Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Reasi also spoke on the occasion.

The purpose of organising these Online Programs was to sensitize the students about the Constitutional Duties as enshrined in Article 51A of the Constitution of India.

Besides, the District Legal Services Authority, through PLVs, also celebrated International Youth Day at different Legal Aid Clinics and Panchayat Ghars existing in District Reasi.
