Extension lecture on Equity Investment Strategies
ALIGARH: The Department of Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University organized an extension lecture on “Equity Investment Strategies” as a part of the Extension Lecture Series, 2023. Mr Jafar Rizvi, CFA, Portfolio Manager and Partner, Harding Loevner, US delivered the lecture.
Mr Jafar discussed three types of equity investments – Public Equity, Venture Capital and Private Equity and elaborated on various equity investment strategies like active vs passive investing, long vs short and quality growth vs value investing.
He underscored the factors for analysing a company including quality of management, growth profile, finance and products, and other factors, including personality traits, temporal factors, ethical factors and geographical considerations.
Earlier, Prof. Jamal Ahmad Farooquie, Chairman of the department, welcomed the guest speaker, while Prof. Valeed Ahmed Ansari gave introductory remarks.
Dr Tariq Aziz extended the vote of thanks and final-year MBA student, Abdur Rehman conducted the programme.
