GAMES GALORE as AMUAAQ Celebrates the Qatar Sports Day with the theme “The Choice is yours”

Doha : The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ) an Associate Organization (AO) of ICBF Under the aegis of the EMBASSY OF INDIA organized various sporting activities in association with AMUAQ Toastmaster Club on the occasion of Qatar National Sport Day. Various sports activities including soccer,races,tug-of-war,sack race, lemon and spoon race, badminton, cycling, Hoola hoop and Kite flying were organized for the participants. For small kids less than 6 years old pin the tail, running races and frog races were held and kids participated with great enthusiasm. All the attendees took part in each event with great zeal and enjoyed it wholeheartedly.
The activity happened at the beautiful venue of Box Park, at the old Doha Port under the managing committee of AMUAAQ presided by Dr. Nadeem Zafar Jilani.
The Alumni of Aligarh Muslim University in Qatar actively engaged in promoting Welfare, social, Health care, educational, sports activities in Qatar and in India.
Participants and their family said: “It was really fun and fitness-based event where they realize the importance of games and sports.
In a discussion on this occasion, President AMUAAQ Dr. Nadeem Jilani said that promoting sports activities and creating an awareness of its importance and including it into our lifestyle should be encouraged as we all know that a healthy body houses a healthy mind.
Dr Nadeem appreciated the managing committee coordinators Mohammad Faisal Naseem, (VP), Mohammad Farman Khan (GS), Dr. Ashna Nusrat (VP-Ladies) and Heads Mr. Farrukh Ali Farooqi, Mamnoon Ahmad Bangash, Dr. Syed Intekhab Alam, Dr. Nayeem, Abad Khan, Faisal Abdulla, Ghazala Yasmeen, Saima Rafat and Syed Shahabuddin.
On the occasion of the National Sports Day, AMUAAQ Chairman, Jawed Ahmad said, Qatar is the first country in the world that celebrates sports day that reflects life’s positive values, this year has a special zest and slogan is “The choice is yours”, He also mentioned about the sports day celebration as the opportunity to bring communities closer together through sport, based on the sporting principles of team building, inclusion and unity, participation, fitness and health.
EP Abdur Rahman who is currently the Chairman & Founder of Care N Cure group was the chief guest while Mr. Sabith Saheer (General Secretary, ICBF), Sabeen M K were the guest of honour.
Sabeena M K (District Club Growth director, Toastmasters) requested all AMU alumni to work towards the benefit of their alma mater and contribute more towards society and skill development. She also mentioned that AMU & their Alumni have been contributing a lot towards community as he has been observing it via social media & news papers. She also appreciated and mentioned that AMU Alumni is among the TOP distinguish club in very short time.
Nihad Ali, Fuad Usman, Praveen, Khaja Nizamuddin attended the program as a special guest.
Mr.Jarrar, Dr. Imran, Dr. Imtiyaz, Rizwan Ahmad, Shafqat Nabi, Ali Imran, Mohammed Mohmin Alvi, Asim, Shahid and other community leaders attended the program.
At the end as a token of appreciation each category winners & runners up were presented with the medals and goody bags while Refreshments were provided by the committee members.
