Famous Tibetan carpet industry of Mainpat will now be revived : Minister Guru Rudrakumar
Raipur: On instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and under the guidance of Gramodyog Minister Guru Rudrakumar, famous Tibetan patterned carpet industry is being revived. Minister Guru Rudrakumar said that as per the vision of State Government, Gramodyog Department is providing reguar employment to migrant labourers as per the action plan. Moreover, the department is providing every possible support to create better employmen opportunities in rural areas.
General Manager (Development) of Chhattisgarh Handicraft Development Board Mr. Shankar Lal Dhurve informed that with the aim to provide regular employment to the carpet weavers of Sarguja district, famous tibetan pattern carpet industry of Mainpat is being revived. Chhattisgah Handicraft Development Board has started carpet making center in Rekhapar area of Mainpat, where 20 carpet weavers have started weaving carpets. Further expansion of this work is in process. Through these centers, more than 100 carpet weavers will be provided employment. He informed that because of corona infection, a large number of weavers from Batauli, Sitapur, who used to go all the way to Bhadohi and Mirzapur (Uttar Pradesh) for weaving work, cannot go there and are unemployed now. Board has taken the initiative to provide employment to these weavers, by engaging them in the carpet weaving centers.
