International Conference on Indian Cultural Heritage is to be organized in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Utkal University and Institute of Media Studies (IMS), Bhubaneswar are jointly organizing an ‘International Conference on Indian Cultural Heritage: Past, Present and Future’ from 18 – 20 March 2017 at Bhubaneswar in association with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). OdishaLIVE is associated with the event as knowledge partner.
‘The Conference will enable the researchers, scholars, academia, the culture sensitive communities of India and other countries and the youngsters in particular to appreciate, strengthen and reassess the Indian Culture’ mentioned Prof. Ranjan Kumar Bal, Chairman, ICICH and Chairman, PG Council, Utkal University. He was announcing the organization of the International Conference here today. ‘Our youngsters are now globe trotters. They need to be rooted in our culture. They are indeed searching and re-discovering the Indian Culture. Further, in the digitized world, India’s past and culture needs a reassessment’ he added.
The Conference is aimed to promote the rich and diversified cultural heritage of India as well as to deliberate the historical scenario and present issues related to Indian culture. This also aimed to strengthen the cultural exchanges and retying the knots with SAARC countries by analyzing the present policies and identification of new areas.
Policy makers, academicians, scholars, researchers, historians, performing artists, tourism professionals, media professionals, critics, writers and students are expected to participate the 3-day conference to effectively carry forward the essence of Indian culture and create new hues across the globe.
‘Beside cultural exchange and ceremonial programmes, one of the major attraction would be the Plenary Sessions where more than 50 scholars from various countries will read out their intellectual papers and it would provide a platform to discuss, debate, exchange ideas and viewpoints leading to a better understanding of Indian culture, carrying forward the essence and securing its future’ said Prof. Upendra Padhi, Convenor, ICICH and Director, Institute of Media Studies, Bhubaneswar.
