Intra-Departmental Moot Court Competition begins

 

Aligarh : The Moot Court Society of Aligarh Muslim University, Centre Malappuram began a three-day Intra-Departmental Moot Court Competition from 4th March 2024, under the guidance of faculty conveners, Dr. Shally Victor and Dr. Absar Aftab Absar. The moot problem revolved around the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. A total of 16 teams have registered for the competition.

The judges panel consisted of Dr. Shally Victor, Dr. Imran Ahmad, and Advocate Prabitha.

Dr. Faisal K.P., Director, AMU, Malappuram centre in his inaugural address appreciated the efforts of members of the Moot Court Society for organizing the competition and expressed his best wishes to the participants.

Dr. Shahnawaz Ahmed Malik, Course Coordinator, Department of Law, delivered the welcome address. He said that the Intra Departmental Moot Court Competition is a regular feature of the AMU Centre since the inception of the Department.

Mr. Ghalib Nashter admired the hard work of the Moot Court Society members in the organization of competition.

Dr. Shally Victor, Convener, Moot Court Society, explained the rules and regulations to the participants.

Dr. Absar Aftab Absar, Convener, Moot Court Society delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was conducted by Mr. Arshad Khan and Ms. Afina S.

Following the inaugural ceremony, the courtrooms came alive in the preliminary rounds, with participants presenting their cases, navigating complex legal issues, and responding to probing questions from the esteemed panel of judges.
