Korea Maritime & Ocean University conducts Graduation Ceremony

On the 15th, our university held the 2022 spring semester graduation ceremony in the main auditorium and produced a large number of maritime talents who will pioneer the future industry .



A total of 942 students, including 732 bachelor ‘s degrees and 210 master’s and doctoral degrees, were conferred degrees at this graduation ceremony . By college, ▲ 286 students from the College of Engineering ▲ 251 students from the School of International Studies ▲ 160 students from the College of Marine Science and Technology ▲ 18 students from the College of Maritime Affairs and ▲ 17 students from the College of Maritime Affairs . There are 176 master’s degree recipients and 34 doctoral degree recipients .



A total of 1,368 students graduated in the first half of the 2022 school year, including the 426 degree recipients at the commencement ceremony for the College of Maritime Affairs on the 26th of last month .



After the opening ceremony, the ceremony proceeded in the order of ▲ National Courtesy ▲ Reading of the Charter of the Sea ▲ Academic Report ▲ Congratulatory Remarks ▲ Conferment of Degrees ▲ Awarding of Certificates for Outstanding Students . Degrees were awarded first at the bachelor’s degree , then at the master’s and doctoral degrees . Since the graduation ceremony was held face-to-face, not only graduates but also parents and key officials from related organizations attended .



The graduates who were selected as outstanding students on this day received the President’s Award, the Alumni Association President’s Award , the Dean’s Award , and the Graduate School Dean’s Award .

Graduates who have taken their first step into society are expected to play a pivotal role in various parts of the local community, being reborn as marine experts in the future .



At the graduation ceremony, President Do Do-hee said , “ Korea Maritime and Ocean University graduates have been active as experts in the marine-related industry, accounting for more than 10% of Korea’s economy from the past until now. ” Even after graduation, I will be reborn as a proud Haedaein . ”



He continued , “ I am grateful to the parents and professors who nurtured wisdom , as well as the alumni and staff who provided strong support for the graduates to focus on their studies . ”
