Master class for students “First aid skills”
2nd year students of the Department of Animal Science, Fish Farming, Agronomy and Land Management of IBEIAT, undergraduate course “Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture” visited the Karelian Republican Branch of the Russian Red Cross.
Training the population in first aid skills is a traditional activity of the International Red Cross Movement. No one ever knows when or where an emergency will happen. And it is important to know how to act in order to save the life of the injured person before the arrival of an ambulance, since in the first minutes after the incident the fate of the health and life of the injured person is decided. Correctly provided first aid shortens the treatment time, promotes the fastest healing of wounds and is often a decisive factor in saving the victim’s life, the organizers said.
During the master class, students got acquainted with the history of the creation, the structure of the Red Cross, learned the basic rules of first aid, the sequence of actions in the event of an unforeseen situation that threatens human health, got acquainted with the types and methods of emergency care for airway obstruction.
