MUMKIN scheme: DC Jammu hands over keys of commercial vehicles to beneficiaries

 

JAMMU : Deputy Commissioner, Anshul Garg today handed over the keys of the commercial vehicles to the beneficiaries of Mission Youth- J&K under the aegis of ‘Mumkin’- a livelihood generation scheme in transport sector for the youth launched by J &K Government.

Chief Planning Officer, Yoginder Katoch; Deputy Director, District Employment & Counselling Center Dr. Mainisha Koul besides other senior officers of the concerned departments were present on the occasion.

The Deputy Director, DECC apprised the DC that the department has sanctioned 15 cases and 10 cases are under process which will be cleared soon. She also apprised that the beneficiaries have been provided with Ashok Leyland Dost Strong load carrying vehicle at 20% subsidy which includes 10% from the government and 10% from the seller. She further informed that the subsidy varies from vehicle to vehicle for which the beneficiaries have applied for.

The Deputy Commissioner, while handing over the keys to the beneficiary, advised them to make best use of the vehicle as load carrier to earn livelihood.

Congratulating the beneficiaries, the DC said that such government schemes are aimed to empower the unemployed youth by providing them assistance and opportunity to create a niche in the society.

He further said that efforts are afoot to provide more opportunities and proper facilities to enable the youth to realize their dreams and aspirations.

The Deputy Commissioner also asked the beneficiaries to educate other unemployment youths to avail the benefits of the Government sponsored schemes.
