NLET is the Examination, which invites applications in to various UG and PG Law Courses. This examination is organized by the NEF Law College, which is located at Christianbasti, G.S. Road, Guwahati City and is one of the best College of North Eastern India

NFL Law College is affiliated to Gauhati University and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), New Delih. It is duly approved by the Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of Assam
Eligibility Criteria
For Five Year Integrated Law
As per Bar Council of India (BCI) Rule, a candidate opting for admission to the Five Year Course must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or an equivalent exam securing in aggregate not less than 45% of the total marks for general candidates and not less than 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates
Not completed 20 years of age (22 years for SC/ST) on 1st June of the year of admission
Reservation as per norms laid in relevant Act/ rule of Govt/Gauhati University/Bar Council of India
For Three Year Law (LLB)
As per Bar Council of India (BCI) Rule, a candidate for admission to the three years course must be Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University with at least 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) can apply for admission into the Programme
Reservation as per norms laid in relevant Act/ rule of Govt/Gauhati University/Bar Council of India
For Two year Law (LLM)
A candidate for admission to the LLM Course must have LLB/Five Year Integrated degree in Law from a recognized University with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates)

Selection Procedure
For 5-Yr Integrated Courses: Admission into Five Year Integrated law courses will be based on NEF Law Entrance Test (NLET). Candidates who have appeared in final exams of 10+2/HS or equivalent exam will be provisionally allowed to appear in the NLET; however, the candidate will be required to produce the same at the time of admission
Exam Pattern
(a) An Entrance Examination shall be conducted by the College for the purpose of admission to the First Semester B.A., LLB (Hons)/BBA, LLB (Hons)/B.Com., LLB (Hons) course. Exam will be held in Guwahati as per the date and venue mentioned in the Admit Card/Hall ticket
(b) There shall be one single paper of 2½ hours duration consisting of Multiple Choice & short answer type Questions of a standard expected from 10+2 students; the weightage given to different sections are as under (the fi gures within bracket show the tentative number of Questions in each area):
Part I – English including Comprehension (40 questions),
Part II – General Knowledge/ Current Affairs (40 questions),
Part III – Elementary Mathematics (30 questions),
Part IV – Legal Aptitude / Awareness (40 questions),
Part V – Logical Reasoning (30 questions) and
Part VII – Long Questions (2 questions)
(c) There shall be a total of 182 questions with 1 mark for each question. The questions shall be of multiple choices /objective type. For each correct answer, 1 (one) mark will be awarded. There is no negative mark for a wrong answer. This rule is applicable for question No. 1 to 180 only
(d) There shall be multiple sets of Test Booklets (Series A, B, C & D), each set containing same 182 questions in different sequence
Selection Procedure for 3-year LLB Course: Admission into Three Year LLB Course will be based on merit
For LLM Course: Admission to the Master of Law (LLM) shall be made strictly on merit. Every eligible candidate shall have to appear in a Written Test consisting of One Paper of four-hour duration carrying 200 Marks followed by Viva Voce
(a) Two questions on Constitutional Law of India carrying 50 Marks
(b) Two questions on Jurisprudence carrying 50 Marks
(c) Two questions on Indian Penal Code carrying 50 Marks
(d) One essay carrying 50 Marks on a topic of Current Legal Problems
How to Apply
Admission Form and Prospectus can be obtained from the College Office on payment of Rs.500/- (Rs.200/- is the entrance examination fee) or by post sending a DD of Rs.550/- made in favour of ‘NEF Law College” payable at Guwahati. Admission Form & Prospectus can also be downloaded from the website www.nefcollege.org
A Demand Draft of Rs.500/- (Five hundred only) has to be enclosed with the downloaded Form. Candidates desiring to appear in the Entrance Exam should fill up the enclosed Application Form and submit the same to the College Office on or before the mentioned last date of submission of Application Forms
Along with the duly filled in Application form, the student should submit 5 (five) recent stamp size photographs and 2 (two) self-addressed envelopes; they should also obtain their Admit Card/Hall Ticket after submitting their Application forms
