On 23-26 August 2022, Novosibirsk hosted the 9th International Forum TECHNOPROM-2022 and 7th All-Russian Youth Scientific Forum: Science of the Future — Science for the Young. Among the speakers where professors, young scientists, and students from Siberian Federal University.

Sabu Thomas, vice-chancellor of Mahatma Ghandi University (India), honorary professor of SibFU, supervisor of the research program on Agro-Preparations of the New Generation: Design Strategy of and Implementation, gave speech at the plenary session and moderated the discussion platform.

Ekaterina Shishatskaya, professor of SibFU, made a presentation on Biotechnologies of Biodegradable Polymer Materials within the Agro-Bio- and Food Technologies section. She also joined the round-table discussion Open discussion: The President of Russia Award for Young Scientists in Science and Innovations and the organising committee rating presentations of the young scientists.

Nadezhda Streltsova, a postgraduate student of the School of Fundamental Biology and Biotechnology (SibFU), compared the efficiency of short- and long-acting fungicidal preparations, which are used to the control grain crops fungal diseases. The long-acting preparations based on poly-(3-hydroxybutyrate) biodegradable polymer have shown higher productivity in protecting grain crops and less harm to the soil. SibFU Researchers are also work on the technology of this polymer synthesis.

Konstantin Kisterskiy, a postgraduate student of the School of Fundamental Biology and Biotechnology (SibFU), presented a study on applying polyhydroxyalkanoates in prosthetics. The material is suitable for making bone prostheses according to the individual parameters. The polymer is highly biocompatible, since it is a derivative of living organisms.

Tatiana Geis, a student of the School of Ecology and Geography (SibFU), made a speech on the changes in carbon dioxide emissions from the surface of rivers depending on the time of year (the case of the Kukuingda River basin).

TECHNOPROM-2022 and the Youth Scientific Forum: Science of the Future — Science for the Young are the platforms for discussing issues of Russian research and engineering development.
