Tomorrow’s Graduates Explore the Global Challenges of the 21st Century
2nd year student of IIPSN (direction of study “International Relations”) Dmitry Tarasov reached the final of the IV International Competition of Research Student Papers “Russia in the Global World: Challenges of the XXI Century”, which will be held on March 16-18, 2021 in Yekaterinburg on the basis of the Ural State Economic University (USUE).
This year, due to the difficult epidemiological situation, the competition is held in full-time and part-time format using conference communication technologies. The participants were offered a range of relevant topics to choose from, including the problem of the future in the context of global inequality, the role of globalization and regionalization, digitalization of the world economy and related challenges for countries with different levels of development, as well as prospects for foreign economic activity in the regions of Russia.
Within the section “Future under Conditions of Current Global Inequality” Dmitry Tarasov will present the results of the research project “Global Inequality: Main Issues and Possible Solutions”, carried out under the leadership of Art. A.V. Ananyina. His report will focus on different types of inequality, as well as the prospects for the deterioration of this problem in the Anthropocene era in the conditions of inaction of national governments and the international community.
The aim of the competition, organized by the Department of Business Foreign Language USUE, is to increase the motivation of students “to use the results of scientific and creative activities for the successful development of economics and management at the national and international level.” The global focus of the competition is manifested primarily in the fact that all competitive research papers and final reports must be submitted in English.
