Two Students RMPS-AMU City School brought glory
Aligarh : Two students from the 11th grade of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh Aligarh Muslim University City School have brought glory to the university and the nation by earning spots in the international and national teams for para badminton and taekwondo respectively. Jhalakesh Kumar represented India in the Egypt International Para Badminton Tournament, securing a bronze medal after defeating competitors from Turkey, Egypt, and Canada. Alongside a cash prize of ₹1, 03,000, he was awarded a medal and certificate. Jhalakesh has also been chosen to represent India in the upcoming Asian Youth Games in Uzbekistan starting from February 25.
Similarly, Simply Sports Foundation has pledged annual sponsorship of ₹10 lakhs to support Jhalakesh Kumar’s advancement in para badminton. Additionally, Chirag Mathur achieved a gold medal for India in taekwondo at the 5th National Taekwondo Championship.
Mr. Saiyyad Tanveer Nabi, Principal; RMPS-AMU City School honored the students in a ceremony, expressing pride in their accomplishments and providing encouragement for their future pursuits. The coaching provided by the school’s sports instructors, Mr. Irfan Ahmad and Mr. Ashraf Khan was also commended during the event. Attendees included Vice-Principal Dr. Mohd Faiyazuddin along with other teaching and non teaching staff .
