The Ural Federal University will open a new direction for training engineers for the countries of North Africa, East Asia, and the Middle East. Currently, the Bachelor’s degree program in Mechatronics in Mechanical Engineering has been developed. The admission will begin in the academic year 2023/24. The program will be conducted entirely in English. It is aimed at students from the countries of the above-mentioned regions. The program will be implemented in cooperation with Dubna State University.

The graduates will receive two diplomas in “Technological Machinery and Equipment” and “Process Automation System”. The first and second courses are supported by the resources of the Ural Federal University. The third and fourth courses are supported by the Dubna State University.

The delegation of the Dubna State University visited the Ural Federal University to sign a memorandum on cooperation. The document was signed by Victor Koksharov, the Rector of the Ural Federal University, and Dmitry Fursaev, the Rector of the Dubna State University. The partners confirmed their interest in carrying out joint actions in the sphere of development of educational, creative and business cooperation between the universities. The cooperation will include student exchange, joint research, lectures, seminars, and conferences.

“We are interested in cooperation with Dubna University in advanced industrial areas. First of all, we are talking about machine building. Today there are more than 150 machine-building enterprises in the Urals that produce a wide range of products. Our university is directly involved in the training of personnel for these enterprises. The graduates of the Urals Federal University are able to create new materials with unique properties and to manage large industrial enterprises,” Koksharov said.

The rector of the Ural Federal University added that integration into the international educational community is of the utmost importance for the university. The education of international students, who will become future engineers, is one of the key tasks of the university.

“I am sure that through our joint efforts we will be able to create educational programs in foreign languages for foreign students that will be competitive and in demand on the educational market. This will make it possible to train qualified specialists in the field of mechanical engineering for companies of the highest level”, stressed Victor Koksharov.
