On December 15, Eduard Patrakov, Head of the Educational Laboratory of the Department of Innovation Studies and Intellectual Property of Ural Federal University, held a remote lecture for colleagues and students from the Azerbaijan State University of Economics and Russian partner universities. The open lecture was devoted to the analysis of risks and resources of the human factor in innovation. Despite the fact that human resources formally occupy a small place in the assessment of innovations, they play a significant role in their creation, promotion and consumption.

The management of such risks, taking into account corporate culture, attitudes toward innovation, socio-cultural and other factors, can influence the effectiveness of change. An international team of specialists (psychologists, sociologists, lawyers, and linguists), supported by the Vladimir Potanin Foundation, has developed a module for Master’s degree programs entitled “Cross-Cultural Studies for Human Resource Management”.

The project is supervised by Eduard Patrakov, Head of the Master’s Degree Program “Organization and Management in Social Work”. The Russian partners included the ICMCI (International Council Management Consulting Institutes) – Tatiana Lobanova, Associate Professor at the National Research University Higher School of Economics; the Rostov Institute (branch) of the All-Russian State University of Justice – Marina Nikulina, Deputy Director for General Affairs; the Russian University of Technology, Russian Technological University MIREA – Lyudmila Baturina, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages. Foreign partners are represented as Academic International Network – ACINNET (Ibero-America) and Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas – UCLV (Cuba).

At the end of the lecture, the director of the Center for Cognitive Ergonomics at Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Mansur Isa Oglu Barkhudarov, highly appreciated it, as well as the experience of previous cooperation. The cooperation is planned to continue.

The lecture was organized by the Department of Coordination and Organization of Research Centers and the Center for Cognitive Economics at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
