Li Zochen, a graduate of the Russian-Chinese Institute of Ural Federal University, became one of the winners of the diploma competition in China. His qualification work on the topic of analysis and optimization of biomass pyrolysis based on solar concentration entered the top 100 best.

Li Zochen studied at the joint educational program “Thermal Power and Thermal Engineering” of UrFU and North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power.

“The work on the thesis was difficult for me, but interesting, the results will be used by the state regulatory authorities of Henan province. I am proud to win the competition and grateful to my supervisors, Professor Wang Baowen and Aleksandr Nikitin, Associate Professor of the Department of Thermal Power Plants. The education I received at the two universities and the Ural Federal University degree gave me confidence in my further professional development,” says Li Zochen.

The Russian-Chinese Institute of UrFU implements two projects with Chinese universities. Five Bachelor’s degree programs are being implemented by the university with the North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power. Another four are implemented with the Hainan College of Economics and Business.

The annual national thesis competition for graduates of Bachelor’s degree programs in the field of energy was held in China in the summer, and in September the expert committee summarized the results.
